Please correct me if I'm in error, but a "real O/O" has their own Big truck and runs under their own authority and finds their own loads.
A lease driver is an I/C --- Independent Contractor --- and the company they're leased to dispatches the loads.
A "real O/O" answers to no Big truck truckin' company.
They ARE the company, and can take a load, or not, without the company gettin' even with them for refusing to take a load.
Big difference as I understand it.

Another satisfied customer. They defiantly have a great marketing program w/ their vids of the great facilities and money just waiting to be picked from the money tree. Glad to hear you hauled a ss before you fell for the BS. I ran into a lease driver on the side of the road in KS a few weeks ago. His new Cascadia was down and he had been waiting 6 hrs for someone to get back w/ him. And this was only about 10 miles from Wellington. Less than an hour from Wichita. Was not happy camper. Had regen or electronic prob that I couldn't help him with so I just told him good luck. Said that lease was great for a week of so and then nothing for next few weeks. Average was low for all the running he was doing. Imagine that.

    :biggrin_2551: WoW!
I took your advice and it put a
    dent in my day.
So much for a "maintenance fund".
Or, is that cash in reserve to "maintain" one's
    (false) sense of security?
It isn't like the company is spendin' THEIR money to
    fetch a stranded driver.

Six hours on the side and I ain't a-gonna make it home tonight.
    Again.

    That's IT driver.
We're gonna ding your DAC for bein' late.
    Yer fired!
Just can't find good workers these daze.

Next in line, step up and bend over. :pottytrain1::pottytrain2:

Fact of the matter is, if you haven't done ur research and failed at leasing from CRE it's nobodys fault but ur own. I did my training at CRE before it was forced teams. I had a brand new truck and was driving solo as a company driver. I found CRE to be a very good company, I got home more than most because of where i live in SO-CAL. Sometimes I got home for a few days without having to use my hometime. My dispatcher Chris Speakman and I worked very well with eachother, If I wanted or needed to get somewhere he would get me there. I choose to become a company driver from the very beginning and when I told them that, that was the end of it. They never tried to ram the leasing program down my throat. I'm very sorry for those of you that have had a bad experience with CRE. I'm guess I'm just one of those people that didn't. I think CRE is a good company and I would go back to work for them, the only reason why I left CRE is because of some family matters that needed some attending too. For those of you that are thinking about going to work and/or train at CRE do it!!! JUST DONT LEASE!!!!!!

Lots of CASCADIAS with PROBLEMS and more FREIGHTSHAKERS problems than the fact it was a CRE lease unit.

That may, in fact, be a fact. Fact or not, I think you're missing the point that Big Duker was making. The point, in fact, was that C.R. England seems to ignore their drivers in distress, broken down on the side of the road for far too many hours.

    (Bold highlights are mine.)
Reading the bold highlighted portion of his post, what do you think Big Duker's point was?
The Big truck was the bigger problem, or being left, broken down, on the side of the road by a company that claims to support their drivers?
Especially since the lease driver has monies deducted from their pay to cover the costs for such incidents. It isn't coming out of C.R.E's pocket.
C.R.E. makes sure that they collect the monies from their lease drivers right off the top, yet they're reluctant to provide the support said monies are deducted to cover.

Are those, in fact, the actions of a stand-up company?

    Who is "Big Duke"?
Your description above sounds like you're describing yourself.

And you have your head up

    in the clouds.
    You're incorrect on several accounts.
    But what's new, right?
First off, I'm not a "staffer", I have absolutely no "control" over what is "posted"
    or what is "DOCKED".
    Nice try though.
But those things "have no bearing on the ongoing discussion".
Seems you're spewing off without knowing what you're talkin' 'bout.

    Here's some advice that'll save you time and from appearing foolish in the future;
if you want to know something about me, ask. Don't try to guess or apply labels or titles that don't fit, or that you wish or imagine were true to prove some pointless point you're trying to make.
Actually, with 5,001 posts, as of this one, if you had read enough of mine, you'd know just about every one of my views on different subjects and that I'm not a member of the "staffers in control here". But my guess, if I were to be so bold, is that you prefer to only read posts that agree with your views, and consider all others as "USELESS". And as you put it, it's your view or nothing.

If assumptions, cheap shots, snide innuendos, or full blown name-calling are your thing,
    I'm your huckleberry.
But we'd have to take our sparring match to an unmoderated forum.
Because, you see, such activities are against the rules here at The Trucker's Report, as well they should be. That's why TTR is such an enjoyable, high quality Big truck truckin' related website. And the staff in control here have my respect for doing a marvelous job of keepin' it that way.
    Can we agree on that?

Right there Cherry Picker. Tell us all about it. Some of us are just trying to give these newbies with the stars in their eyes the real scoop on maggots like CRE. You sound like a recruiter for them. And at least I can read. If you got half the years your claim and are making excuses for these driver mill grinders you must not have gotten far. After Shock is one of the most respected members of this forum. He doesn't need me to stand up for him but I will against some know it all. I could care less what you think about me. Would like to meet you in person though. LOL!
