We were wondering about the miles for Teams..? What would be an average week for miles..?

I understand that you can sit alot, which we don't mind however it has to be worthwhile.

  3. Very sporadic and it all depends on how you equip yourself. At times we were available for everything in White Glove (Reefer, lift gate, floor rings, PSS). However at last we were surface only with PSS (Ammo and Explosives) and a dry van, and did about as well as we did with a white glove trailer. But last year was a bad year, only grossing 10-12k/month in an E unit and pretty low rates compared to 2008/2009, but I have heard it is improving somewhat now.

I know that this is an old post but here it goes.

I drive a straight truck leased to Express-1. I get a 60/40 split, get 100% of the fsc, 100% of the dh, 100% of the detention pay and 100% of any Dry runs. yes I pay for the fuel and no one tells me how much I can idle or how to rout my runs. All the truck maintenance is paid by the fleet owner.
I run solo and get any were from 3 to 7 runs a week. Most times I am not setting for long at all.

Am contemplating putting a few trucks on in about a month trying to figure out which expediting company has the best freight base and good rates. Fed X CC, Panther,Express 1 etc

Forgot to mention which trucks are best seems that the box trucks seem to generate more revenue than a 53 ft trlr, also the reefer equipped trucks seem to be very common.

Better wait a while before you go with FedEx or panther, We have been sitting more than before. Last week we got ONE load that paid $700.00 to the truck and set for the rest of the week, but we were not the only ones that set. Dispatch even said that freight was very very slow these past few weeks.

Talked to 2 panther drivers this past Friday who said that things had slowed down to the point that dispatch was offering empty runs to get to a better location. I don't know if was payed runs or not. They also said that they knew 2 FedEx cc drivers that has moved to panther and hated it.

Like i said before, the vast majority of FedEx cc drivers say that FedEx is....the best of the worst!

......and i don't think that that is a good thing.

You do sit, alot! They will run your butt off to get the load there on time but then you can be sure that you will sit for at least 2 days. If you go to Cali,4 to 6 days.TX,3 to 4 days. North east 1 to 2 days. Mid west 1 to 2 days. This is based on my experence with them since Nov the 1st.

When you run,you make good money. When you sit you burn up that good money you made on the trip before and it seems that we are starting to sit way more than we run!

Think twice before you take the FedEx plunge!

.......hell,i'm still looking for another place to go:biggrin_25510:

Well as of 2 weeks ago,my fedex cc days are over. They found a ticket that I got when I had my Florida's licence,I don't have that licence no more but they said it was a safely thing. It was a speeding ticket in a school zone(15 over) but I moved to PA and got my PA driver's licence and that licence is clean. My Florida licence I turn in when I got PA licence but it was still on my dmv I guest.I even told them about this ticket but they said they let it go.Well I guest they had a change of heart ofter 2 months driving for them.Anyway I wasn't to happy there,my O/O was a great guy to work for but we sat alot.I talk to him last night on the phone, now he getting good loads. But as for me its back into the unemployment line again.:biggrin_25521:

Sounds like expediting is full of ups and downs no matter who you work. I am not an expediter...but would love to be. I drive a tanker hauling gasoline in VT, NH, NY and MA.It is a part time job for me. I only worked one day in the past month. Times are really slow all over.
