I’d have to be on my death bed to go into a majority of these, pilot in freyerstown PA is probably the most frequent one I go to under protest but only to shower and only if it’s during the day. there’s several hiding spots right down 78th street and our yard is about half an hour south, I have a couple of hiding spots up in the north east and a couple headed west so fuel/shower during the day and get the heck out of dodge

Strikes me you all need to re-locate to France. Very few big chains here and off the autoroutes still plenty of what you would call Mom and Pops I think. In other words family owned and run. They even close the place for their holidays. Good wine, good food, good service and very good driver conversation, often altogether at long tables. They are called Routiers in French, both the drivers and the restaurants.
Forget about the UK though. Different mindset and most of what were called Transport Cafes, have shut down and been built over. A common joke amongst British drivers who live and/or work abroad is 'If there are 13 tables in a transport caff, after the 13th driver has arrived, the place is full.'
