Tornado Outbreak In Nebraska,Iowa & Texas

Alot of people in the central plains states that ignored weather forecasters just got a rude awakening.

I remember the one in Aug of 1990 that hit Plainfield & Naperville I happen to be back where I grew up for a friend’s wedding miles & miles of damage and as you said basically solid housing

 

Just another reason why I liked being based in Utah, never had to worry about driving in high winds.

 

As I wrote that post I remembered there is a stretch just north of Salt lake City known for high winds at a certain time of the year known to have blown over trains apparently, not sure what exactly is the cause of it though, it was not a tornado, never looked into what the cause was, but one day we were on the airport shuttle mini bus traveling from Logan to SLC the State troopers had stopped all the heavy vehicles from moving so there where trucks parked up all along the I -15 but they were still allowing small vehicles to move. I mean they occasionally very occasionally can even get a tornado in California too, but nothing like Tornado ally that's for certain. Also Wyoming is known along the I - 80 to get high winds to, but again it has nothing to do with tornados.
