Definitely sounds like time for new batteries, similar issues on my truck before replacement.

Yeah saw a driver yesterday walking around taking photos with his tablet to finalize his pretrip, I hope the FMCSA doesn’t jump on the bandwagon and make this a requirement…

If SPD ever starts requiring it, I can see a fair number of replacement tablets being needed..."whoops, I just dropped it in a big puddle....again", or "whoops, I just dropped it and the screen and digitizer cracked". Knowing how screwed up the Samsara app is, management would probably complain that they can't see the pic clearly. The morons at Samsara didn't think to access the flash when we scan our b/l in, but it flashes fine using the T-Flow app, so we have to watch when we snap a pic of our b/l in the Samsara app to make sure it doesn't have any shadow lines that make it unreadable. I can imagine having to take a pic with if you're doing a pretrip at 3 am w/o a flash.

My unload went o.k. given the location. Had to back in off a street 2 full size cars could barely pass into a driveway that a pickup couldn't pass me after I got backed in. And they unloaded me with a full size 4x4 tele-handler, and all the freight had to go thru a door that was only 6' wide. Thankfully the tele-handler was one that had the front and rear steer because he had to almost do an Austin Powers getting me unloaded.

Now I am at the yard waiting on getting in the shop to get the truck castrated and my APU fixed. I am on my next load, but it picks up in the morning so I might have to drive the daycab to pick it up. It loads in Sedro Woolley, WA going to the Norfolk VA area.

why do so many companies register their equipment in Indiana. I also see a lot of trailers registered in Maine for some reason

Cheaper. It used to be Oklahoma, now it's Indiana. Daseke actually changed all the titles of their trucks to owned by Daseke Leasing out of Indiana.

Maine also allows you to register a large number of trailers at the same time and has long intervals for their registrations validity.

I remember way back when Illinois was cheap and all the Schneider trucks and trailers had Illinois plates.
