I’m going to be taking a load of furniture for 6 am delivery on Tuesday morning to a new furniture store in The Grove shopping center in in Los Angeles near the La Brea tar pits. There sure doesn’t seem to be overnight parking at the destination (I’m still trying to get good info on where to park for the delivery, there’s no apparent loading dock).

I’m rolling out of Dallas on Saturday morning. It looks like either US 287/I-40/I-15 or I-20/I-10 will work. I’m thinking about getting relatively close Sunday night (as far as California, maybe), and then as close as possible Monday and shut down early, and head downtown to be there around 4 am.

I’ll gladly accept any suggestions for stops, parking, routing! Thanks!

    BennysPennys and austinmike Thank this.

Its been a few years since I been over by the Tar Pits.
The Farmers Market had a big lot and used to allow truck parking down at the far end.
Area was not real truck friendly I would study Google maps real well...
    Best of luck.

I don’t expect to park nearby. I just need suggestions on parking spots within maybe an hour’s drive.

Ontario, CA Truck Stop | TA Ontario TA Petro Travel Centers

If you rolled out of the TA by 4:30am, you’ll be golden. It’s about an hour drive.

There’s no easy way getting into the Grove, I’ve been there a few times in the wee hours of the morning. You need to stick with the truck routes. I would do, junction 101 north to Santa Monica blvd(state route 2) west to La Brea blvd, go south(left). When you get to Beverly blvd, go west(right) to Grove or Fairfax, depends which way your entering. This is the way I know and have done.

That’s what I was going to suggest but cell service there is miserable. Also got to spend some money at the Petro for the parking fee.

TA Barstow is were I stage now but it’ll add another 1.5 hours to your commute.
Good parking, showers are decent and my favorite restaurant..Black Bear Diner.

Cajon pass jams up very early so allow some extra time.

A while back somebody here on TTR mentioned Cowboy's Burgers has truck parking, so you might try them if you don't want to mess with either of the TAs off of Milliken.

Ontario, CA has 2 truck stops. LA has virtually no truck parking, as far as I know.

There's a McDonald's that has truck parking. Don't remember where it's at though.
