Add an engine rebuild and new emissions overhaul. That is the true cost.

Company driver would be better option if you need money instead of taking on the risk and responsibilities of owning truck just to haul cheap fright.

If the carrier is covering the HM insurance like most of them do and that’s $2 to his truck after lease and trailer and everything that’s probably not bad for hauling waste water. The guys I know hauling anhydrous are in the $2.60 range to their truck.

Sadly almost all of trucking is a skeleton of what it used to be. It's dedicated all miles so its 2-2.20 empty also. Before my cascadia engine crapped i was on dedicated to Montana..it takes 6 days and your gross check on that load after they take thier cut is $8,400k ish

If you dont take long loads.. Your weekly checks doing waste is anywhere between 4k-6k week. Not great but I'm not giving up my freedom or those weekly checks if i dont have to.

Do you have to install a PTO or anything? If your plan is to only run it a year and you don’t have to install a PTO or pump I’d be inclined to buy a cheap truck and run it until it doesn’t. You should have your purchase price back out of it in a couple months and anything after that is gravy on top. If it dies it dies.

Well truthfully I've never used the one I had installed on the previous truck because we were inundated with work. Now vac tank work pops up and the manager said it will give me 3 or so more loads a month. Yeah, Im leaning towards a 17' volvo 780/860 500k miles with the dinette table for 35-40k.
