I checked over 40 trucks for sale and never found a truck that was less than 20% Because when loading and unloading, do you turn off the truck in the summer??
-
20 %is low buy what you like

Thanks

Something to consider is that idling % also includes traffic lights stopping in stop and go traffic sitting at a road entrance waiting for a gap in traffic etc etc ., I had drivers reward in ecm and was amazed I’d get some idling when I was strict about shutting truck off..

Yes, I turn my truck off anytime the brakes are set and I'm not going to be moving in the next 30 seconds.
The app provides heat, cooling, and electrical power while the truck is off. My new truck has parksmartand opti idle, so I expect my idle time will triple, but should still be below 10%.
Now if we're talking about trucks with no apu/parksmart, then my thinking is different. But the higher the idle time, the more prevalent dpf issues. -
40% or more is considered less than optimal per Detroit. You also want to look at your average drive load. Above 30% is considered optimal.

You inspected it? Did you get a Dyno run with blowby tests? Oil analysis? Full ECM dump and get a trusted mechanic to go over it with a critical eye?
Yes all that costs $$, but so does an engine rebuild.
And at that milage you should figure on $10-15K for emissions in the near future.wifi_guru, Magoo1968 and Savor the Flavor Thank this.
