Ever deliberately stopped in the middle of the street to make a turn?

It's been answered - it's illegal. Impeding traffic, failure to yield, improper turn- the exact citation is open to discussion and it's unlikely any local cop is going to spend his time creating a headache for himself unless the driver did something else to piss him off.

The ignored club is going to have to start having monthly dues and regular meetings just to keep up.

 

You’ll have occasion to need to “play chicken” to get through intersections, especially in older areas not exactly designed to handle modern length trucks.
I have 2 that i run often that this scenario applies to.
My favorite is turning right from Dayton blvd onto Ashland terrace. People overrun the stop line, sometimes stopping well beyond it. It’s a challenge because your tractor must go well past that lane before you start to bend it, or you’ll nail the trees the city thought it wise to plane right there and the curb they forgot to roll.
Can’t tell you how many times I’ve pulled that turn only to watch the driver in the four wheeler mouth holy sheet as i pass inches from their bumper, as they white knuckle the steering wheel bracing for impact.
Do it right, and your tandems pass 2” off the curb and your front bumper is less than a foot from oncoming traffic in that turn lane.
Be smooth, signal your intentions, and send it smartly. You got this driver.

 

Every expedite_it thread is a mess LOL, but you're right, might as well just let it play out at this point.

I hadn't even realized at the time that one thread was for left turns and one was for right turns. I thought it was the same thread created twice.
