I thought it was 100...guess not. But what do they care, they don't have to work in this heat. I bet if their office a/c quit they'd work from home until it was fixed.

I don’t think the trucks will idle at all anymore. Mine won’t, and none of my coworkers will either. Kind of chicken #### if you ask me, telling the drivers one thing then doing another.

Wylie management training 101...2 faces for the price of 1.

I wonder if they're decision would change if their idle cutting would result in a serious illness or death....would be one heck of a hit on the supposed fuel savings

Can't complain about the load or the shipper, this time. From check in to driving out their lot, just under 2 hours.

My truck no longer has an active fault code, although it still has the little amber engine shaped night light.

Maybe, if this visit to SoCal goes like the last visit...my truck might be a semi-permanent fixture

There’s no such idle timers on my company’s trucks. I’ve been idling all night since Monday because my APU is broke, which of course has been dragging my fuel mileage down. I’m going back to the Southeast after i get to Kansas City so i’m not sure when i’ll be able to get it fixed. Not that this Carrier unit works worth a #### above 85 anyways.

The check engine light also comes and goes. I believe this is something to do with the aftertreatment system but the truck hasn’t derated or anything so i haven’t worried about it. It’s a loaner truck that’s slowly creeping up to 600k so i don’t expect it to be perfect IMG_3634.jpeg

If it's a PACCAR motor, those are notorious for having emissions gremlins. This is the 1st time I have had the engine light on in quite a while. The MAXXFARCE International trucks I had in the past had the engine light on so often that International shops basically said that unless the red engine light or the STOP light came on don't worry about it. My Mack at Moore had the light on most of the time, the dealer would check it, clear it and within 100 miles or so it would come back on. When I had one mechanic get pissy with me for not bringing it in when it came on, I told him that if I took it in every time it came on, I would only be going from one shop to another and not moving freight...and I also said that most of us thought that when that light came on, it means the engine hasn't fallen out...yet, since we had the 1st year Anthems, that was about the only part that hadn't broke or fell off...He wasn't amused.

it’s a Detroit motor. The only time i report CEL’s is if the trucks performance is different.

I will refrain from any comment about the current generation of DD13/15 motors aside from this...the 2 I had at Creaffer weren't even reliable enough to be used as barge anchors.
