DPF's are a proven tech.....I don't know about the SCR's.....that's why I went with a new '09 and not a '10....and besides that....I have yet to see a t/s with urea dispensing pumps.....It's pain to have to go in and lug 5 gal containers...

I was actually looking into building a glider. I don't want one of those new engines either.

    Do a little research.
You will find out the the SCR engines are a much more "engine and owner friendly" system. With the 2007-2010 engines, the intake was being choked off with almost 50% EGR to reduce NOx. With the SCR system, the EGR is turned WAY down because the DEF fluid takes care of the NOx emissions after the engine. It's a MUCH better system. By reducing EGR, it allows more oxygen in the engine to boost power and fuel mileage.
Benefits of SCR should be the loss of high soot production, high heat, instant black oil, active regens and the mushy pedal. The downside is the 10K surcharge and the DEF fluid cost and availability.

I'm looking to buy a new 389 and I have researched the crap out of this. Saying all of that, I'll probably spec out a Cat because I'm a Cat guy, and it won't see many miles and I'm not going to pay the 10K surcharge if I don't have to. I also live close to Pittsburgh Diesel.
If the truck was going over the road, then it would be a no brainer, it would be speced with a new SCR 550 Cummins because the 10K would be back in my pocket very soon from the fuel mileage savings.

I saw your truck there and I was interested in the color.
Is it Viper red, or another red from the paint fanbook?
    Thanks. Nice truck!

A guy I know had a truck up there and it won. Wolfe Motor Lines out of Roanoke VA. He had a white, green, double sleeper 379 pulling a dump I think. Didn't see it in your pics. It won in 2 categories.
