My wife and I are looking for a company that will train us and not take us to the cleaners.... We are in California and have seen a lot of CR England trucks. Almost all of the comments say RUN LIKE HELL the other way!
Is there ANY company that is somewhat decent? I know it's naieve to think a perfect company exists, but at least deal honestly with real green rookies. Can anybody suggest a company? Our income needs are about 2400. to 3500. per month. Can we REALLY earn that and more?
Please no recruiter responses....
We need some honesty...

you could earn that per week..........
try central refrigerated, prime, gordon, swift............. -
I drive for covenant, and it not prefect. But i can tell you every thang they have been up fount about every thang.
Now just like every company out there we are loosing bonus and cutting pay.
But they well train you and your wife together and then you can run as teams together.
Its a starting place. to get you going. As running together as a team I can see as making $1200 a week.
All the money in one house hold is a great idea. You want miss each other.
Students pay has change to I thank to 350 a week. that be 700 for the two of you.
You have to complete a 35 driving segment for the each of you. Which it took me 40 days to complete. Now with the two of you it just may be a little longer.
Then you up grade to a driver and get paid 14 cent a mile after 3 months you get payed 15 cent a mile and 16 at a year as driving as team.
Good luck stay in touch. -
Con-Way!!!! They seem to have an affinity for HW teams. Call 'em!

A team can EASILY earn that in a month with anyone. Heck I made that with Swift as a solo driver OTR.
Personally I would highly recommend Swift. You will find good and bad things about every company out there but, it's up to you personally how things go with any of them. Go into it with an open mind, positive hopes and stay away from negative stuff about to company unless you are thick skinned. Too often people let others bad experiences dictate how their personal experience will go. We hear negative things and suddenly everything that happens to us on the road becomes negative and the company's fault in our eyes. Just my opinion of course.JustSonny and simplyred1962 Thank this. -
This was an email I sent to a recruiter at CR E It's been a week after a second email asking if it is true...Hmmm I wonder why they won't respond....(I even told her to "recruit me") I felt like I was interrupting her and she really did'nt want to be bothered...
Hello XXXXXX, my wife and I are considering working for your company and through our due diligence, have read some unfavorible comments and legal issues about C.R. England and it's practices. Please review the links (available to anybody that looks for it) and respond to us. If these claims are not true , it should be referred to your legal dept. If they are true, obviously we will bow out and seek another company.
It has put your company in a negative light, and affects our decision to pursue employment with your company.
I would really appreciate a response.

Hey Wiskers..I think it is so cool you and wife teaming..I teamed with my son for a year and a half..We both had expierence before we teamed. We ran with Swift's Trans-Con division, Mostly All coast to coast freight, our average was about 6000 miles per week. in a company truck. If you plan to run more than that,, TRUST me you will burn out quick. We once ran 7500 miles back to back weeks..Good money we could'nt wait to get home to get away from each other for awhile..I don't want to scare you but runnin' team. In order to make the kind of money you need. You need to do two things 1 run the wheels off the truck, 2 lease a trk as soon as you can, cause with all money going to one house, what you make will pay for the trk plus expenses, your wife's more or less pocket money,as long as you don't get crazy. Seen a lot of drivers go under cause they got a little too crazy with the money. But first I guess training is top of the list. Sorry this is so long,,I would suggest of all companies Swift they have a good solid Trans Con division lots of freight. You will however need a HazMat endorsement, but not to worry not much of that to even talk about, they just want you to have it (just in case). If you develop a good on-time record you will have more than you can handle. One time we left Salt Lake headed to Chicago, 100 miles into it got a load to pick up in Romeoville in 2 days ( or sooner) headed for Portland, Did the whole thing in just over 4 days. Final note sleeping in moving truck takes practice LOL...Good Luck.
Wiskers Thanks this. -
the bottom line is.....there are not a lot of companies that will train a couple together. I only know of 2 covenant and cr England. if you find others please let me know so I can add them to the list.
so I suggest you pick one and keep an open mind of the company until they show you different. get some experience and if your not happy then go somewhere as an experienced team.

carrot top is correct, and the last I checked covenant is not offering any training at all, team or otherwise.
If you want to stay with your wife through training it's pretty much CRE.
Swift has a program where you go through first, drive for awhile, and then go through a one day "train the trainer" course. After that your wife goes through the initial training and when it's time for road training you get to train her.
My wife and I are starting in SLC on Monday, May 3rd.
Best of luck

All I can say is maybe.
It depends on if you get the miles. It depends on if the company doesnt decide they have a problem with you or your wife as a driver.
Under ideal conditions you might see this income.
