Good day road warriors,
I have been looking at buying a used Volvo from Ashley Equipment Sales. From my research I understand that Ashley take very good care of their equipment.
I am curious if anyone has ever bought one, or know anyone that has; and if it has been a worthwhile investment.

I was going to buy one myself until I went and looked at some in person. Interiors were excessively worn. Seats, steering wheel, dash, dinette cushions, all stained. Cupboard hinges and handles broken. Sleeper curtains stained and hanging by just a few hooks. One had a hole worn through the floor all the way to metal where a driver's heel would sit all day. Reminded me of why I'll never put a driver in my truck. I can own a truck for 10 years and you could eat off the floor and driver's seat. Just careless, it aint my truck stuff to me. Some were complete rust buckets, and you won't see that in the pictures. One had the fuel lines to the APU cut like they just got tired of fixing it? Most the batteries were dead. I was surprised because I when I saw they were releasing those Volvos I thought it would be a slam dunk purchase, but nope. As a comparison, the Walmart trucks I looked at had "Company Driver Wear", but nothing to the extent the Ashley trucks did.

Wow LOTSO, that seems to be a stark contrast from the units I looked at. I was looking at a couple of units out in Ecru, MS back in 2022 and they were very clean. The sales person even gave me with the maintenance records back then. I was not ready to pull the trigger at that time. However now, whenever you call, you seem to get the same guy...that sounds like he's working from home....somewhere in N. Carolina; but he states that with "new management" they no longer provide maintenance records. I will keep trying as I am now ready to make the purchase. I want to stick with the 780 for the overall comfort and the sleeper area with the convertable dinette. I looked at the KWs, and they are not bad, but in terms of maintenance costs, both are not cheap.
I forgot about the walmart used truck sales; will have to search for those too as I am not opposed to Freightliner as I know they are much cheaper maintenance wise.
Will need to search SNI too... 77fib77....
Thanks. -

I guess I'm just picky when I by a truck...
Big Road Skateboard and wifi_guru Thank this. -
Good point on the freight shakers...prefer a manual, but that appears to be hard to find nowadays in a descent used rig.
Thanks for the ideas and info -
