Hello Drivers: I Live In The Crap State Of New York. I'm in the process of getting my own authority but have been stopped cold by a claus in the NY I.R.P that says I have to establish a place of business staffed during normal hours of business, so the state can come by anytime they frigin feel like it to look through my records! I'm only going to be a single owner operator, How the hell can they expect me to have a staffed office for myself? Can anyone offer me a loop hole or way I can get by this? If your thinking move to Texas I've already thought of it.
Thanks for your advice.

Hello Drivers: Here is an up date to this post. It seems that the I.R.P. manual for New York is written in such a way as to make it unclear. After contacting someone in Albany were the D.M.V office is I was told there are two ways to file for an apportioned plate, one is an Individual IRP account and a Business IRP, thus explaining the need for a "place of business". Thanks to all who responded to this post.
