Is it a big deal if I log out of my ELD and drive a few miles to avoid an HOS violation?

Hit the split sleeper berth buttin on the Qualcomm. So you can use your 8/2 sleeper split option.

That's where I am at. The ELD will be flashing like you've just run over a bus load of nuns, but 10 minutes over? Notate the heck out of it (unable to find parking, going to next truck stop, that sort of thing), and let the chips fall where they may. A 10 minute violation might get you a stern talking to from the compliance folks ("safety", lol), or possibly even a write up from the DOT, but a falsification will get you the opportunity to contemplate your foolish ways for 34 hrs.....

Since he hasn't updated us on what happened, I'm just going to assume he got there "on time", found out the load was actually supposed to have been delivered a week ago, the new appointment time never existed, and he's still waiting on customer relations to get back with dispatch with a new delivery time.

Brandt, Zoltan1a and tarmadilo Thank this.
