so i’ve found out that these new Carrier APU’s, while sucking less in hot weather, still kind of suck. Had to turn my truck back on because the APU just wasn’t keeping up. Kind of defeats the purpose of having A/C on an APU if you just end up having to idle anyways
-
Yesterday it was 89 outside and i had to idle the apu wasn't keeping it cool sorry im not going to sweat in the sleeper, i had a tripak and that thing would freeze you out if it was under 95
-
I’m not impressed with these Carrier APU’s in the slightest. My only complaint with this company. If i were president and CEO, i’d ditch these #### things in an instant.
The ironic thing is that Carrier is one of the biggest names in HVAC, but i’m sorry to say their APU’s are hot garbage. ThermoKing makes a better APU in every way, shape, and form
At least the new one on my truck hasn’t had any reliability issues…yet. I had nothing but constant problems with older modelsdwells40, IH9300SBA and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
my Magnum truck had a TriPac and it did good in 110 degree Texas heat in direct sun. If it gets above 90, with these Carriers you can pretty much just forget it
-
I am really partial to the DClimate Battery units in some of the KWs. Pretty much all you hear is the fan blowing, and sometimes, the compressor under the floor of the sleeper can be noisy. My only issue is that when the truck shuts off after charging the batteries, the a/c has to be cycled off, then back on.
