I'm glad it's worked out for you. I'm curious though, you had quit your job in this economic environment WITHOUT having another job to step into?

Don't bet the farm on that. They are aware you got the tickets. I had a ticket for 17 over the limit. Judge lowered it, and was convicted of 14 over. TN forgot to remove the 17 over ticket off my record. I got it removed and Werner refused to hire me because they had knowledge of the ticket.

But it can't hurt to ask!

 

I dont let what the current percieved times dictate what I decide to do. The way I looked at it was , I could work and not make any money or leave and not make any money with a chance of landing something else. The container division is having a big meeting this week coming up. I guess the lack of being able to keep drivers in the fleet is starting to get noticed. I look forward to putting my 2cents in. Hopefully it will cause some changes for the better or they will use complaints to tighten up the monies more! Will see.

 

Hello, I have been throught your driving program, I think it is a shame, that the mentors that take advantage of new drivers. The owner operators have one thing in mind, is to make money, not to train drivers. I have talked the other women, that were new drivers, it is unsafe for women to be train by your men drivers,,we all need a job, but to be put throught what has happen, is not right!! Your drivers still have jobs!!, and we are let to find something else!! I have been aways from my family for 7 weeks,, and no job to show for!! I was told this is the company to be with,,they were wrong!! THIS IS A SHAME HOW YOU TREAT WOMEN, FOR THIS FIELD OF WORK!! NO ONE WANT TO SAY ANYTHING, BECAUSE WE HAVE FAMILIES TO FEED AND BILLS TO PAY, WE ARE JUST TRYING TO SERIES. MAYBE IT CAN CHANGE FOR THE BETTER!! SHAME ON SWIFT

Mine was great. Very helpful, informative, and supporting. We still chat on an almost daily basis since I went solo last June.

 

You can request a female mentor. There may be a waiting list for one, but it remains an option.

You can also request a different mentor if you are not getting along with the one you have been assigned.

It sounds like you didn't pay attention during orientation to see what your options were. What terminal did you start from?
