Yeah, the first time I had one of those I thought "oh, neat". At the first stop the wheels where still in the chock, but the chock was 10 feet to the rear and the forks were swinging wildly. When I shoved the forks underneath a pallet and then the chock under the wheels, it worked fine.

On the return trip (900 miles) I was empty and I tried strapping it to the walls, which kept if from moving much but left a lot of 'transfer marks'. I know it's just paint/powder coat, but I like returning things in the same condition I got them.

Unfortunately not a lot of details have been put out on this.

Today, talked to a UHP officer that was the one on scene. That is one of the photos he took.
It was on a 4 axle roll back tow truck. The machine had a 22k weight as equipped.
    Had NO securement whatsoever.
The driver was the owner of the tow company.
He also has a landscaping company, that was his machine.

Just my guess, he no longer has a business and is going to jail for a while.

This was cut from an article by local news.

Saturday's accident occurred when a bulldozer somehow "broke free" of the eastbound tow truck hauling it as the driver negotiated a right-hand curve, landing on the westbound pickup in which Hendrickson and his daughter were traveling, according to the Utah Department of Public Safety. State officials released little new information as the probe into the matter continues. Three others in the Hendrickson vehicle, including the man's wife and two of his kids, survived.

"We are investigating what securement there was," Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Cameron Roden said, referencing how the bulldozer was secured to the tow truck. "It appears whatever securement there was failed."

According to a UHP officer I spoke with, and from the few photos of the scene. They found no evidence of any securement equipment on the machine.

He should be in jail for a long time then, that should be a zero tolerance thing. Shouldn't be free right now

Not a lot of information about this is coming out. Have heard a few rumors and speculation that contradicts some reports. Not giving them any validity.

This is one of 2 photos from the scene that have been published.

I can't even count the number of tilt-deck tow trucks I see rolling around Vegas, with the towed vehicles only being "secured" by the winch cable that pulled the vehicle up on the deck! Any time I see those tow trucks and equipment rental company beaver-tails, I make sure to stay far, far away.
