Yep just depends. About 33% for me. I'm all most always shut down by 8pm once in a great while I'll run till 11-12pm but thats by my choice. I hate getting up before 7am.

I love running at night. I generally run anywhere from 9am to 5am. Only time of day I rarely drive is from 5am to 9am.

BigKid2, thats just weird, I know of a couple of other drivers that prefer the late-early hours. But that doesn't stop it being weird, better get out of the sunlight!:biggrin_2559: My bad time is 3am-7am if I have been driving through the night, I get really tired just before daybreak.

I'm thinking about going with Marten out of Florida. How is the new terminal in Lakeland doing? Any problem there? Which is better Florida regional or southeast regional? How much touch freight do they have? Do they have any dedicated work out of Florida? What kind of money can I make? Their pay scale for regional says percentage under 150 miles and pay per mile after that. Thanks!

Never been to the Lakeland terminal. I'd say the southeast regional would be best. I don't touch freight. I'm a driver, not a lumper. They are very good about lumpers.

You have to live with in 50 miles of Atlanta to be on S.E. regional. You will have to take Florida regional if you want a regional. I have talked with some of the drivers from the s.e., mid-west, west and n.e. regionals and like OTR some are doing great and others are not. Some drivers don't understand that regional runs allot of 200-600 mile runs. Thats what regional does. A lot of short runs. Which means that in order to make money you have to put in 12-14 hrs every day and run as many loads as you can. I have run some of the short runs in the mid-west west and south east. OTR uses them to get you where the long runs are and to get you home. I run them enough to know I NEVER want to go regional. To much work.

Thanks for the info Kabar... since I'm also OTR don't know much about regional. I know I never wanted to do it because of a limited running area. I like to see the country especially Denver and points west

Looney, you started this thread Dec 22, 2009. You have kept it alive. Kabar has been in the thick of it also, as you know. I'm not qualified to drive for Marten....not qualified to drive for any carrier just yet but my time is rapidly approaching. Just wanted to thank you and Kabar for hanging in with this thread. Ironically, it's not just about Marten, it's also about attitude, work ethic and gut-level honesty. Thanks! Oldnew....:salute:
