New grads overlook garbage, trash, rubbish, refuse companies for local work. Most pay well and have decent benefits and some are union jobs. One of my buddies got tired of the road and took a job with Waste Management and made $65G his first year and that was about 25 years ago in Nashville.

The pay is garbage in the ops area. ( mexican border) really, like 15/hr.
