Converting Dayton hubs to Budd hubs is very very difficult to gather all the pieces after all the years gone by. . Axle shafts and bearings were all different and housings had brake part brackets welded on in different locations. Best to get housings all ready set up for the spring ride with Budd hubs or a cut off.
You can cut the back side of the rear diff with the I-H logo and just weld that plate over the new one. Leave big enough holes to go over the fill, gauge, and drain plugs. Custom style.

Cool idea thanks
Someone mentioned that a Volvo cutoff will fit perfectly inside the 9670 frame.
Thanks to you all for the help -
Just my 2 cents, but my first move would be to get this truck back your house whether on a low boy or behind a wrecker. Yep, it will cost you a little money but it will also help you avoid any kind of temporary licensing or insurance in order to go down the road. Also from what you have said it is going to take you quite a few trips back and forth to get it roadworthy. Even worse would be to get about halfway to your house and suffer a breakdown and then there you are on the side of the road.
Your project sounds like a lot of fun. Best of luck to you on this endeavor.Star Rider Thanks this. -

I converted my 90 IH from Dayton to Uni-Mounts. Measured bearing spacing and bearing sets and found a set of four for $320 from local scrap yard.SmallPackage Thanks this.
