Your beef is with the carrier and not the customer. Otherwise you are no different as the carrier not paying you. Have your lawyer do their job and pull for a decent carrier outside of Chicago.
Company hasn't paid my last 6 weekly statement

Go talk to them. Ask when you will get paid. If your not 1099 you can collect unemployment, since you didn't get paid and it's a violation of labor rules. Hell call the department of labor anyway and see what they have to say. Six weeks is a lot of money to be owed. Might be able to on 1099 but I doubt the company pays the unemployment insurance.
I would quit. But try to get in an email when your going to get paid. -

Well stop working for them, you are only increasing your debt by running for free.
They have you doing work and are using the funds from that to float their company, in essence you are providing them an interest free, unsecured loan.
Send the funds to collections and move on before you go down with them.
They can sell equipment all they want but it is likely secured to a loan, or they will find a reason to use the funds for something besides paying you. Even if the equipment is transfered to you, that doesn't pay the bills.
I e seen this before, you are unlikely to see your funds if you keep letting them not pay you.Siinman and AlexRider3 Thank this. -

I would get away from them. Are they going to give you the equipment. Is your name on the title or is it a lease purchase?
They can't run their affairs enough to pay you. Why would anything make a difference?
If your in Chicago you could be clearing a 1000+ a week of you have two years under you. Or maybe 1300 to 1600 clear, which is what I was doing on flatbed or cryo. Flat I did better with. But 70+ hours including commute, couldn't keep doing it. Instead your chasing your tail. I don't know how the job market is now.Last edited: Aug 18, 2024
