I don't know man. If I had wager a guess, it's more about your own safety. I just know that it's a law, with very costly consequences for a CDL Holder. I'm not about to even take that chance. This ain't the hill to die on.

You're right. It is a matter of getting caught. If or when someone gets caught, they should remember to do better.

The other problem is the carriers insurance could take a hit. If you’re employed by a large carrier it may not be a problem because they can absorb the increase better than a small outfit.

Got to keep that in mind in these lean times.. Be an asset, not a burden.

When the crap hits the fan it’ll keep you in your seat. Kind of hard to control your truck or car if you’re upside down in the passenger seat:)

Then there’s accidents like this picture that no seatbelt or airbags can save you. Can’t imagine what it’s like for the first responders to remove his body, likely in pieces.

Sliding out of seat into the floor leaves the big truck out of control. EVERY SINGLE person I've seen argue about seatbelts assumes nothing unusual will happen while driving. All it takes is one of the numerous idiots on the toad to do something unexpected & you are in a crash.

We'll soon be arguing about in case of crash being thrown clear into a pallet of marshmallows & how the only reason someone lived is because they didn't wear a seatbelt.

These out of the seat comments are hilarious. If you're out of the seat you already have MAJOR problems that a seat belt would have not made a difference to resolve.

Yeah, consequences only happen after the FMCSA Debate Team comes to your home and explains EVERYTHING about the topic & you sign a contract to understand, approve, and like everything about the seatbelt. /sarc

Volunteer for as many problems as possible. It's the key to life.

No violation is easier to avoid than acseatbelt violation. All of the career problems from it are avoidable 200%. If the FMCSA outlawed eating broken glass there would always be some genius complaining how that was a problem.

Poverty, like ignorance, is not just an accident. Both are caused by someone willing to climb a mountain of warning signs & penalties with bare hands in winter to get to those destinations.

If you’re out of your seat it means you weren’t wearing a seatbelt.
I don’t think you thought out your reply before posting :)
