This has been my experience with flatbed hazmat loads. I got a multiple placards. They are reversible ones and I got them on Amazon. You don’t need the numbered ones they are mostly used by tankers. Also, all shippers are required to give you placards. The ones they gave me have all had sticky tape on the back. Which was convenient the one time 2 of my placards didn’t have the correct placard.
Since getting my hazmat I have only done 3 hazmat loads and that maybe because my company can’t do landstar loads. FYI landstar is the king and queen of hazmat

Ok so it’s best to just get two placard holders for each side and not a flip card one at all?

Flip is what I have. You have to decide. You will need two more one for rear and front. Please see pictures in this post how I set mine up

What Flip card did you go with? Was it the 8 card? 10 card or 15? I’m currently undecided if I get the 15 because it doesn’t have explosives on it. And the 10 card does.

    I g
I got the 10. All the flip cards have a blank flip card all white. The one time I didn’t have the correct flip card I put the placard on the all white blank one and stuck on good.

    Finally,

The most important flip card is the flammable. You will probably get roofing paint buckets. Make sure you have V Boards the extra wide expensive edge protectors or you make your own V Boards for the paint buckets.

So you actually got both the 10 and the 15? Out of them, which do you think is the better option? Which has the flakers that you think you would most commonly use for a flatbed? The only reason I am hesitant to get the 15 is because it doesn’t have explosives and 10 has 1-8 clases

Just get the 10. I’m not sure how often you’re going to get the explosive loads. Those are rare. Most fireworks are in dry van. Here and there you will get a military load. Personally hazmat is not really going that strong for me at all. Highly recommend getting hazmat for all drivers. Another tool. But for flatbed it’s not much. Again you will always have the blank white flip placard to put any placard you don’t have on it. All placards that the shippers are required to give you by law are adhesive

So realistically, it would be best to just get the plain placard holders and slip in the placard they give me when needed.
