Retail groceries are a racket. A handful of corporations control the entire country. They also have politicians in their pocket because the government is doing a lot to make it more difficult to purchase food on a local level.

 

I don't think most people realize how few people/corporations actually control most of the key aspects of the entire nation.

Another one today. We are getting hammered here in Detroit. I don't even remember how many articles I have seen about layoffs in automotive industry during last two months

 

When two of the largest have dumped $800mil trying to complete a merger, and people in the government are fine with letting it go through, that should tell anyone how crooked our politicians are. They’re all bought and paid for.

 

In my small part of the world I see the opposite. There is an explosion of butcher shops, small markets, bakeries and roadside produce stands. Granted you will most definitely have to be in the “have” category to shop there.
