My company had people net with forward facing cameras for a long time,no problems with that. They have just switched to Motive with this huge tablet and there is a inward facing camera recording all your "violations " you need to be "coached" about. After I discovered this have been driving with the right sun visor down all the time to cover it up. It's only been a few days so I don't know how seriously they are but if it becomes a problem I probably will have to leave. This level of monitoring has went too far.

Just wanted to add that Benore Logistics Systems has inward and outward facing cameras. In the three and half months I've been there I've already been hit with two violations. I'm not so worried about DOT catching me doing something wrong, it's my company that I'm worried about. Benore is primarily a relay company. There's a few OTR drivers but it's mostly day cabs.
The two violations were for speeding and talking on my phone while driving. My company called, picked up my phone, and answered without even thinking. I remember the incident, and I know it's a big no-no for drivers, it's my own fault here. From the point I got the warning, the incident had been two weeks ago. That irked me a bit. If they had warned me the day of the incident, then that's one thing. Just because that haven't said anything yet doesn't mean they can't. You could believe you're (the driver) doing a fantastic job and get hit with a violation and not have any clue where it come from. From what I read our camera's only record when it detects an OBC incident. That's crap. Companies really need to disclose exactly what the cameras are capable of. I know for a fact that our cameras detect head movement and eye movement. I encourage drivers as well to research the type of camera that's in their trucks. I have a Samsara CM15 or 32, something of that nature. Since that incident, I haven't touched my phone. Always remember big brother is watching.
In the 14 years I've had my CDLs I haven't had any accidents at all. However, this company is making me out to be a bad driver because "their AI camera said so." I thought I'd be okay with it but the more I'm in the truck with it recording me constantly the more I hate it. My previous job before Benore required CDLs but I was more of a yard dog than anything and as time went on, the pay got less and workload more, so I left and went with Benore. I'm kind of in a rock and hard place until I get six months with them. One other thing, if you see the ad for Benore, the 1,400 to 1,600 with Benore is BS for most drivers. This place clearly shows favoritism towards certain drivers, and they might make that, but I don't.
