Find where you want to work BEFORE you sign up for any CDL school. Going to school and owing money on a school loan but not having a job is worse than not having the CDL.

WOIA can give a grant for ANY trade school, not just trucking. Half of the companies hiring newbies offer Tuition Reimbursement. That means you earn money by driving plus an additional amount per week or per month that you can use to pay back any school loan.

Find the job first that pays what you need and will hire you. Some companies (good and bad) offer their own CDL schools where you sign a contract to work for them for 12-18 months in exchange for "free" CDL school. If one of those companies provides what you need to be happy as a driver, then go to their "free" school. If one of those companies offers "free" school but is not a good fit for your needs avoid them no matter what. Most newbies (80%) fail in trucking before they work 12 months. You still will owe money for CDL school "free" or not if you leave trucking.

I think Averrit has terminal in Lexington. They might have school, not sure but my sisters friend worked there for his first job. He had weekends or part of them off

The Millis Transfer training program is not so bad. It's a 1yr agreement but you get paid 600 before taxes while in classroom training. The otr part of the training will be the worst. Freight is slow so those 15k miles will take forever. Good luck. Btw I'm in training now.
