Many do live on farms that have been in the family for generations.
As far as the burbs w/white picket fences, haven't seen that. Most that leave the farms and fishing villages move to the city and live in condominiums.
What's nice about the cities is practically anything you want or need is within walking distance. If not, public transport is very cheap and efficient. Waste of money to own a car; not worth the hassle and expense. I bought a car and sold it in about 3 months. Not worth it when I could catch a taxi or bus within 5 minutes or walk 10 minutes to the subway or city train/light rail.

This is not a subject that should be glossed over in a way that can conveniently fit in a comment, and it's obviously way off topic, but I'll post one article as a jumping off point, if you're interested in learning more about this. Also, The Geopolitical Economy Report has some good vids about it on YouTube, and is *mostly* unbiased.

OK, Weed usage: You will fail any blood/urine test for nearly 2 months after your last joint. You can always cut your hair really short (and I mean ALL of your hair, too.)
Cats: How do THEY fell about bouncing down the highways every single day?
CDL school: If you are serious, go to a school of your choice, on your dime. Those carrier schools are invariable garbage.
Liberal views and cities: Well, don't ever talk politics either in a truckstop or on the CB! Also, in that part of the country, the only thing remotely "liberal" is Liberal, KS. You need to go either north, west, or east...bryan21384 and kippsgonnatruck Thank this.
