About 35 years ago, I was in NJ, and there was a story in the Star-Ledger about an accident on the NJTP; An open-top bucket hauler was carrying slaughterhouse waste when it had to stop VERY quickly to avoid an accident. The load slopped forward and over the gunwales of the trailer nose, forcing cow heads, entrails, and just generally nasty liquids all over the cab of the rig, as well as several cars involved in the accident. Pics were provided.....
Old joke:
Lady to butcher: " Do these turkeys get any larger?"
Butcher: "No, ma'am; they're DEAD." -
Rendering plant on Ca. 99 just south of Chico. If that place doesn't turn you into a vegetarian nothing will.

Nastiest thing ever saw was a flatbed unloading cow hides in Laredo Texas. He pulled the tarp off and even the maggots were puking.

Pilgrims Pride plant in Gainesville,Georgia.
I wouldn’t want to even think about the property values around that plant, let alone the smell!
That plant would need to be sterilized-with a tactical nuke!!The_vett and Old_n_gray Thank this. -
One of the very 1st trucking escapades I went on, was with a friend that hauled hides out of Packerland Packing, Green Bay. While the hide part was pretty straightforward, he asked me if I ever saw the "killing floor". I said no, and to this day, I can't forget what I saw. Pert near a vegetarian because of it.

Danone is like perfume comparing to smell around the plant west from I-15 on exit 207. I don't know what they are doing inside but trust me you will need new clothes, hair shave and lot of showers. I think this business related with fallen dead animals processed in something.

Probably "used animals" to make perfume or gelatin. There was a place in Marshall Wis. that did that. Located just outside of town, an east wind wasn't kind. Blood too. I knew a guy that hauled animal blood out of slaughter houses for only God knows what.The_vett and Snailexpress Thank this.
