On a safety audit satisfactory is the highest level you can go. Yes it has a lot to be desired. And very misleading to people who don't know the difference.

Oh I know. And yes there's only 3 grade levels which as you stated is very misleading. That's why I was adding a little clarity.

I-70 crash investigation shows trucker was “over strapped” and freshly inspected, freeing driver of any charges
Update: Driver will not face any criminal charges!
Truck was 1 mph under the speed limit.
Truck was also inspected by the company less than a month prior to the accident and was inspected at the weigh station prior to the accident.
Driver was not intoxicated.
The load was 8,000 pounds under the limit and OVERSTRAPPED.Studebaker Hawk, Concorde, Cattleman84 and 7 others Thank this. -
I'm an OO for Roehl, thanks for putting this out there! I hadn't heard an update. My sincere condolences for the lose of life to the family involved! I was also worried about my teammate as well!

After this accident Colorado reduced the speed in that work zone.

Roehl trains their flatbed drivers to at least consider double strapping everything. When I worked for them and did flatbed I made sure that nothing could have possibly shifted with every load I hauled. It is company policy to double strap certain cargo such as coils.
One of my last runs for that company was doing a recovery of a flatbed trailer in Youngstown, Ohio that had rolled over. The load had stayed secure the entire time but most of the trailer and the truck pulling it was banged up badly.Iceman1643 and mjd4277 Thank this. -
Its nice to finally see an outcome in the driver's favor. But still goes to show that even if you do everything right bad things can still happen.Iceman1643, drvrtech77 and mjd4277 Thank this.

True.
In our line of work when you do right no one remembers, but when you do wrong no one ever forgets!Iceman1643, drvrtech77 and Cattleman84 Thank this. -
Even empty at the lower speed, you better be paying attention at the camber shift or it'll toss you halfway into the left lane.Iceman1643, mjd4277, PacoTaco and 1 other person Thank this.

I can vouch for that. A few months ago prior to that accident picked up a beer load in Golden and had to go through that construction zone on my way up to SLC. Even with a heavy payload the lane shift could throw you off at reduced speeds-and I was actually overloaded (80,200 pounds with half full tanks)!
