I don't know much (nothing!) about Qualcomm and macros. I could dig a little and get some answers but it's Saturday morning and I'm lazy. Plus, I'd like to get info from you folks who work with this day in and day out.
Are macro numbers specific to carrier or are they the same for all? Is there a "list" of macro numbers and their usage(s)? Thanks!

Many Macros are the same...although the "number' may differ from company to company.

While at the same time, many companies will have "personalized" macros.

Not a real answer. But as close as it gets.

good mourning my friend: hope this finds you well. now as far as quail com i no a little bit about , it's simply a way to track your driver or truck 24/7 , now when it first came out there was concearn that the information would be turned over to the DOT to track what the drivers and of course they denied that but surprise surprise they do just that, they dont go in my truck thats the nice thing about owning your own you dont have to play . as far as macros cant tell you never used the system i suspect it about the same as quail com all i do is hire a good driver in the first place and i don't have to worry about it i don't need there help i don't want to be tracked by anyone and that is why there in use , for a company to track there driver and or truck. to me not a good thing . hope this helped . southernpride

I've noticed that my company's macro numbers are different than others - plus we've introduced new macro functions as the company's business has changed. Not all of a macros functionality is present in some cases either...

Simple answer is no although most companies have the basics.

    arrived shipper

    loaded

    arrived stop

    departed stop

    arrival consignee

    empty

Most have some version of a check call, bumping a dock(for detention), HOS report, home time request etc. etc.

Companies set up their specific macros to match their operating system, and company structure. So no one companies macro's will not be exactly the same as anothers but may be very similar.

Yup, most companies have the same kind of macros but numbered different. Like others said they have an arrived at shipper, loaded macro, arrived at stop 1 if its a multiple stop, depart stop 1, arrived at final, empty call, some have macros for fueling and want to know how much you put on, most have hours worked for previous day to keep track of your 70. Most loaded calls will have many lines to fill out, like trailer number, bill of lading number, weight on bol, pieces on bol, commodity(what ya hauling), how much fuel you got at that point. Empty calls same thing, some want bol again, trailer number, how much fuel left. Some companies have home time request, or trailer damage macro, and also you have free form macros in which you can write anything you want and will go right to your driver manager. There are different types of sat's in trucks now, qualcomm being the norm, last company I was with had one call aether but was the same thing as qualcomm.
