N14 1998 Volvo vibration/shakes

if you own a n14, you always have an injector going out….but that’s a skip not a shake, skipping on the shift is the first sign of going out, really nothing else to do but keep driving it until it does it constantly unless you can get someone with a laptop to go for a ride and do the cutout test while loaded, though you might be able to catch it it if you rev it up (15-1700) while sitting, you can try unplugging them but usually the computer ends up compensating for that so if it’s not that bad yet you won’t figure it out doing that

What do you run for fuel additive and when was the last time the rack was ran?

I keep an injector and jake gasket in the truck at all times, Cummins PX are about $9xx right now

Check the steer axle kingpins

 

When a injector goes out. The cylinder goes dead. So yes. A dead cylinder will cause the truck to shake. As the motor is out of balance.

On a side note. I've had the level valve replaced twice this year. Why the second time is beyond me. But both times. They didn't set the ride height. The truck didn't shake but it sure whined like crap.

I love picking up the truck and jumping on the freeway and saying. WTF. And having to go back to shop.

 

Why not take it to another shop for a second opinion?
