You are correct. I am not cross with you and would do the same as you are. It’s the laws and governments that hurt their citizens that I am cross with. It’s almost as the government hates its citizens.
-
Yeah, I knew about Canada. It's completely nuts over there with their work visas and "international students".
If we get the same here in US, we are completely screwed.Isafarmboy, AModelCat and Iamoverit Thank this. -
Where is the company you work for located, I assumed Ontario; you need to contact the labour agency in your province and talk to someone about the ability of the company to take your pay.wis bang, Accidental Trucker and tscottme Thank this.

I
Yes it’s in ontario. Okay I will contact the labour agency. Thanks for the advice. -
You're under contract as a company driver?!?
I don't think I would sign a contract that authorized a company to deduct from my pay things that were beyond my control, other than a clawback for overpayment. -
I'm still confused about the "had to use the emergency brake" comment. Unless things have changed in the last 20 years, there is no "emergency brake" on a semi. Do you mean the TRAILER BRAKE? Do you mean you pulled either the yellow brake knob or the red brake knob?? Please explain.
FWIW, that brake lever on the steering column (or dashboard) is only for the TRAILER brake; pulling that will only give you braking to the trailer axles, and nothing to the tractor brakes. If you did this, then you are an idiot, and you are lucky that you didn't jacknife.
As far as the red and yellow brake knobs on the dash, one SETS just the trailer brakes (both axles), and the other sets all 'parking axles' (the 2 axles on the trailer, plus only the forward drive axle). Pulling either while driving is just plain STUPID. Doing cr@p like this will get you killed.
In the end, you were just following too closely. -
No no you misunderstood. I was saying that I had to apply hard foot brake.
-
And as I already mentioned. Our trucks are locked on 65 miles per hour. Other trucks were passing me and then coming infront of me. There was gap but the truck infront of applied hard brakes all of sudden. I had to do the same.TB John Thanks this.

I
I had to sign it because I was on locked work permit and they showed me that other drivers also have same contracts. If insurance say I am wrong I am willing to pay but I dont think they even filed it and I wanted to be sure about that. Looks like there is no way to do that.
