I have been doing lots of reading and checking of the threads here over the last few days. Lots of great information.
I am going to go get my CDL but am trying to decide which place to go. Main thing I want to do is be able to drive solo so that I can have my wife out on the road with me.
I am looking for any advice or information anyone has on the driver solution school located in Fort Worth as there does not seem to much info about that school posted here on the site.
I like CRST because they are somewhat local to me. But I just found out that they are Team only so that defeats being able to have a passenger out with me. Any input on Prime and Solo would be appreciated.
Prime seems to be a good situation but if I am understanding things correctly they are putting solos into new trucks that are 1 seaters. Is that a definet? Or do I have other options?
Drivers Solutions. They are wanting to put me on with USA Truck but the pay appears to be a lot less then the above 2 companies and lots of complaints are found about going thru DS and getting on with USA Truck. However it does help me acheive a solo driving position.
I do not have the money to pay for CDL classes so the 8 moth or 1 year driving contract is whats gonna happen. I just need to decide which company to go with.
Based on what I have said above what advice can any of you veterans offer me?
Also would really like to speak with someone who has went thru the Fort Worth DS C1 School... (Please PM me)
Thank You in advance
Which One? Prime, DS, CRST or?

However, if you become a company driver there is no gaurantee that you will get a truck with a passenger seat and a condo roof. Its luck of the draw on the day you are assigned your truck...thefather Thanks this. -
I have heard a lot of things both good and bad about prime. I am kinda split on the issue. But the deal breaker for the most part with Prime is because of the chance of possibly ending up in a 1 seater. In the morning I head over to Roadmasters and I know they have deals with a few companies.

If your in Ft. worth they have Raider express that at one time took students,Swift has a terminal in lancaster and may have a school there not sure do know that the flatbed side from a friend of mine was great he gets home if not everyweekend then every other. FFE heard some good some bad . Schneider offers training there in dallas off of I 20 , Werner not sure if they do or not. As far as the others you mentioned I would go with Prime if I had to choose between those .

Actually I am in Oklahoma about an hour north of OKC. The closest DS/C1 school for me was Fort Worth. But I think I may end up going to Roadmasters school here in Tulsa. I have an appointment this morning to go do the paperwork and take a tour etc...
If I went to Fort Worth I would be gone 3 weeks. Here in Tulsa I will get home each night. Just have to do about a 3 hour trip each day.

What about Central Tech in Drumright, OK? Schneider hires from there.

I have checked them out and that will be my next place to check into if Roadmasters does not work out.
