With the weird weather pattern we are expecting, here is a bit on Global Warming. Pro and Con comments argued...

D: You cite 150 years of data as adequate to claim we are experiencing climate change. That is not sufficient. Remember it was not long ago, the 1970s if I remember correctly, that we were told we were entering a new ice age. As I said before, weather is shorter, climate change is weather over long period, even hundreds or thousands of years. In geologic terms, 150 years is a blip and can't be used to predict such a major change as we are being told we face. I remain a skeptic on climate change, but I stay abreast of what is happening. At the age of ninety, it won't be as much as a problem for me as it is for others.

Hey John, if you want to sound sciencey, lay off the "1970's ice age" rubbish - it wasn't a thing (outside of pulp magazines). and yes, 150 years of direct observations is enough. Reuters Mon, Feb 25, 2019 Evidence for man-made global warming hits 'gold standard'(Scientists) said confidence that human activities were raising the heat at the Earth's surface had reached a "five-sigma" level, a statistical gauge meaning there is only a one-in-a-million chance that the signal would appear if there was no warming. So, professionals with a reputation, versus john in the comments, who to believe???

    D. Interesting data. However, as concerns our present situation, the changes we are seeing, and there are changes, could be nothing more than a momentary (in geologic terms) blimp that will reverse itself or flatten out. Data from the beginning of the industrial age, 1850s+ which scientists like to point to, is still less than 200 years old and can't form a solid basis for climate change claims. And even if all the alarmists are right, that we are in an existential situation, why all the scare tactics to convince everyone they are right? One glaring reason why alarmists' claims are downplayed or ignored, is that IPCC rigged climate data several years ago and got caught. Who are we layman to trust? Another reason for doubt is the outright fraud for money and fame of Al Gore and his Polar bear on an ice chunk floating to its death, and John Kerry's haughty attitude and misleading comments. If the facts are there, there is no need to falsify conclusions. If we are truly in the throes of drastic and potentially dangerous climate change, scientists need to engage in developing "accommodation" plans rather than scaring little kids as Thunberg has done.
