China is also building more wind and solar generation capacity than anyone else, by FAR, and by “private enterprises”.

in other words, China is building as much as they can, other than coal. Even the Chinese like to breathe.

Nuclear is the cleanest option we have for producing the power that we are going to require. But this country is hellbent on subsidizing solar and wind instead of pursuing realistic solutions.

EVs are already here. where have you been.
if it is government money, it isn't an investment, there is no such thing with government funding.
    Really?

That's a bit dumb position to take, seeing copper is one of the most abundant metal we have.

Also aluminum is used a lot in the power grid, Those overhead lines are not copper.
Something about being a communist country that has a Fascist economy may have something to do with it, and seeing freedoms are limited, it may also be a case which they are told what to buy - YOU BUY EV OR ELSE!!
Why? We need oil and Coal is the ultimate renewable.
Is there a real need to do this?
Of course real solutions are not considered.
I pass by a great piece of land on my way to the office, 455 acres. It has been farmed since this area was settled and has 100 acres of woods, really productive woods. I drove by there Friday, the flags are out, they are putting in a housing development, they have equipment ready to take out the woods and this will be just like the one across from the land, not one tree in the entire development, nothing. Instead of building houses, they could use the land for carbon capture.

There is not been a single EV truck ever invented on this planet that can run OTR over the mountains with a heavy load with a full duty day 11 hr cycle range in winter or summer. Electric vehicles have been out for about 100 years now. Technology has not really improved to become a game changer, especially if not a single truck has been invented that can do the job. We are not talking about hauling potato chips locally

I don’t believe EV will even be around in heavy duty trucks for OTR ever. I do see possibilities of different types of fuels being used maybe hydrogen…

There’s a lot of news of electric vehicle plants, closing, and vehicle lines being reduced. Nobody wants to spend a whole bunch of money for something that doesn’t work well. Yeah, it was new and exciting people with lots of money bottom we went through a political phase where people were all left… But that ship has sailed. Now it’s time to fix this country from all the pot induced day dreaming nonsense.

Could you imagine the size and weight of a battery to power an entire freight train? I don't see that happening any time soon either.

    Tesla

500 miles and supposedly outpulls diesel. Running around in northern cali. 500 miles in the rocky mountains is about 11 hours diesel time. For the weaker motors.

I know a plant that has 3 BYD's but I don't know the performance. Never drove one of them.

If their trucks are designed anything like their forklifts, that truck will be crazy expensive to maintain and repair. BYD forklifts are not designed with maintenance and repairs in mind. Their parts prices are through the roof as well.

Tesla can do 500 miles in best case scenario on a brand new battery is for what I heard. That is why it does not used for OTR. I haul up to 700 miles a day. I go up and down mountains and drive in subzero temperatures in the Plaines I would need a truck that can do that consistently year after year. No electric truck has been invented that can do that. You don’t haul freight built around your truck. You spec a truck built around your customers freight.
