What general area do y’all live ?

I think you will be able to find some company or business that can accommodate your needs but it’s going to have to be a company owned by someone who shares your religious beliefs etc

Or a company that does regional stuff that has their drivers home every weekend

My neighbor drives for a company that does heavy haul oversize loads and he usually leaves out on Sunday night and gets back Thursday afternoon

makes two trips from Atlanta to Ohio and back .

if you lived near Atlanta , this company might be an option for you .

I should actually clarify this some, it's not 12:01 Saturday, it's sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. A company, I found, will promise you the moon, and may try their darndest, but they can't help things like weather, traffic, load/delivery delays, breakdowns and normally, for most folks, it's not that big a deal. However, if you observe these strict Orthodox rituals, it's unacceptable to miss them. It's too unpredictable a business for any structured beliefs like that.

    Lengthy rant deleted.

You are trying to force an employer who hires drivers by the hundreds or thousands to work YOUR WAY. This is like one kleenex expecting to set policy for the Lumber company but you won't do the one thing that could guarantee you a good outcome. Namely, find the exact job first before going to CDL school. You want to rush ahead and focus on something else and imagine it will work out anyway. That's not how you responsibly do things in life. You will have less than zero power once you are hired. You will satisfy yourself that your conversation with a recruiter has been documented and sent up the chain of command through your driver file and that it will be honored because the "car salesman" "promised" you it would be honored. RECRUITERS LIE. I think you are just one of the newbies with their fantasy clouding THEIR mind and refusing to investigate. Trucking jobs are NOT like other jobs you have had. You won't have influence or power in your job like you may have had at other jobs. Your only control to get the situation you want is during your job search. And you seem to be determined to avoid that search until it is too late. You will not have time during CDL school to investigate even one employer sufficiently to guarantee the result you want.

FIND THE JOB FIRST BEFORE GOING TO CDL SCHOOL. To make an analogy, you wouldn't advise someone to become Buddhist to get closer to the G-d of the Bible. If you want to get closer to the G-d of the Bible you need to be choosy about which religion you follow. I'm begging you to find the "religious goal" (a job) first before going to training for that specific clergy (CDL school).

Your conversation with the trucking company needs to 1 be specific about the time you need off, and 2 be in writing to avoid "confusion". It needs to be in writing from you to the company, and the answer from the company needs to be in writing also. Both you and the company need to know exactly how you and the company will respond when there is a conflict.

If you just look for "Dedicated" or "Regional" and don't have the specific conversation with written proof on both ends you are setting yourself up for a bad situation. You cannot assume the company using the word regional or dedicated will deliver the outcome you assume it will.

Happy Hanukkah and best of luck in your job search.

Why would it be hard to schedule a load to pick up Friday (during daylight), deliver monday within a 1.5 days travel time for a team? Thats about 1500 miles a team can run at 50mph for 30 hours... (2800 miles at 70mph over 40 hours if you have a fast truck and a late monday delivery).

They just wouldnt be able to make a saturday delivery. Which again, isnt that big of a deal.

I am researching hot shot. That's one of the reasons I am here. I have also communicated with several companies... Have crossed a bunch off the list. I even have one here in Texas ran by someone of similar belief systems. Your presumptions about me and how I am going about things are wrong.

I do appreciate the advice though. I am also following most of it.
