    Many years back, I was going east on I40 towards Needles. Just east of the Goffs Rd exit a dry van turned onto one of the crossovers. DOT man was heading west and nailed him. Had a good laugh.

    "Back in the day", this was a thing that drivers could often get away with doing on the open desert portions of highways, CA99 being one road infamous for TT's doing this. It used to be called a "California turn"...
