Thats a huge plus! So I can look to see the house a few times during the week and weekends. I just hope that all the background stuff goes well, Hopefully tomorrow I will hear something positive from them. Do they start me as regional and transfer to local or would I go right to local?

They start you at what you tell them you want to do. Good luck. Let me know how it goes. I'll check the blog over the weekend. Time for some beauty sleep.

    John,
I talked to Mort today, he is trying to line up a driver for me to do a road test, but if there are none available, he said I can drive up there and do the road test, and drug screen. He said I can be in my own truck as early as next week! I told him I want the local and he said I'll be home every weekend, and maybe a few nights during the week, depending on the routes. So basically is he telling me I have the job?

Hey JB, you made reference a few pages back about how good things were going for you, and how Calex and you work like a team. A lot of people might overlook such a simple comment, but to be honest with you it's nice to have others on this board who feel the same as I do. I know work is work and all of us would love to win the Florida powerball which is like 200 plus million right now, but the reallity of that happening is slim to none so we're left to work, but I take an approach to my work that makes it rewarding at the end of the day, and not just a job, I get the same vibe from you and a few others on here. Anyhow, like I've said in the past keep up the positive, uplifting posts and know that there are others on here who appreciate the info and your positive outlook on life in general. I've tried to keep my Pritchett trucking thread going, but there's not too much interesting stuff to post about my job, fairly cut and dry but I'd like to think that I put forth the same attitude in that thread as you do in yours.

    Safe travels............

Yes he is. They don't play any games like having you come to Pittston and after a day tell you something came back on your background checks. When they tell you to come to Pittston you have a job.

I was trying to get ahold of Mort today, I think I'm gonna go up on my own so he doesn't have to find a driver down here. I wasn't sure what I would have to do or what he would have to arrange. Can you tell me about the truck specs and anything else about the company? I'm kinda excited about it.

Well I'm sitting here in Gallup NM taking my 10hr break so I thought I'd bring everyone up to speed about the last 2 days. I left Las Vegas 5am Thursday morning with my reset complete and a one pick up load of Celery in Oxnard. Garylobo left the night before so I met him at the TA in Barstow and had breakfast. He still hadn't gotten his dispatch yet so I left and headed to Oxnard. I knew that a celery load is loaded just as soon as you get there, there's no waiting on cooling or gas like the strawberry load I had last month. After getting to the cooler, checking in and immediately given a door I noticed I would have enough time to get loaded and get back to Barstow and take a 10hr break before heading east. Boy was I wrong. Before loading started I asked how many pallets there would be, 22, ok, how much do the pallets weigh, 1850lbs each, ok, so after an hour of loading I go to get my paper work, I look at the weight and it say's 46,950lbs. I looked at the shipping clerk and said I couldn't carry that much weight, she told me to go weigh at the truck stop and to come back and they'll make the adjustments. I had a single pallet in the nose and a single pallet in the second to last row. I asked her why would they load a trailer and not give the correct weight BEFORE loading. She told me that a lot of drivers never scale their trucks and once they leave it's their headache. Well I told her I would be back shortly. I went to scale out and guess what? 37,900 on drives, 32.600 on the trailer and 12,800 on the steer. Grand total of 83,300. What do I know? I just drive this thing. After getting back to the shipper, they back me right in and agreed to take 2 pallets off. The only problem was the whole load had to come off so I could put another single pallet in the front half of the trailer so I could adjust my axles. After an hour of listening to these people argue about who was going to do it I finally got it reworked and went to reweigh. I slid my axles before weighing then weighed. It came to 34,100, 33,100, and 12,200. Done, legal and now out of hours for the day. So I took my break in Oxnard and left 2am local time this morning. I just finished fueling and am in the process of taking my 10 hour break. That's it for now. Oh, Garylobo finally got dispatched with 2 p/u's in Watsonville that loaded today. He's a day behind me and delivers the same place I am in Milton PA.
