Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

For snow,calling for a possibility of 5to 8 where I'm at in Wilkes Barre.

 

It has begun.

 

Got loaded in cleveland yesterday then dropped in front royal 2200 last night. Bobtailed out so parking would be easier, got a bobtail spot at pilot in toms brook. Forgot how tight and skinny cleveland streets are, also got a little lost trying to find the entrance to the warehouse then turns out I was given a wrong address. Vic is out this week apparently and somebody else filling in. Been kinda messed up so far this week. Got sent a load picking up off the yard in Richmond so bounced back to baugh for an empty dryvan to take. Load of paper rolls to massilion Ohio then a shorty next from brooklyn Ohio to Plainfield Indiana. At the travel plaza in Somerset off the turnpike in the overflow lot. Will see if able to get out in the morning.

 

Been a couple of my better weeks in a while,have a delivery in the Greensboro,Nc,than they'll probably deadhead me home for my weekend hometime.
Don't know if y'all know or not ,but apparently if you talk to your dm now,he can put a wash on your truck at the beacon.

 

Back in the truck after a few days of hometime. Delivered a trailer full of plastic clothes hangers to a tiny little warehouse in New Jersey. Followup load assignment was to drop my empty at a Five Below warehouse, then bobtail over to a Sam's Club warehouse to pick up a loaded trailer, to be delivered to suburbs of Atlanta. And there was a followup load after that.

Unfortunately for all concerned, the loaded trailer I was supposed to pick up at the Sam's Club DC had already been picked up by another Abilene driver. And there were no other loaded Abilene trailers available. So now I'm sitting bobtail at the TA in Paulsboro, and we'll see what they can find me to do tomorrow.

 

No loads available. Would've preferred to get stuck in Bordentown rather than Paulsboro, but you take what you can get. Hopefully tomorrow will have something.

 

They better pay you layover because that obviously was their error most likely double dispatching that load.

 

No worries there. Dispatcher himself told me to put in for layover.

Whatever other problems Abilene may have, they are *usually* pretty good about paying detention and layover when it is owed.

 

Been a good week. Loaded at cummins plant in Ky to daimler in swedesboro, nj for friday 1600. Thankfully they allow overnight parking there towards the end past the receiving docks in the spots across from the docks with no plates. Picked up 45 miles north at the ikea warehouse then dropped in norfolk. Only had five hours left on my 70 so dh to yard and dropped empty for a 34 which will be up tomorrow morning.
