That's definitely possible.
It does happen to trucks a lot that they're in and out of these dealerships and all they do is keep writing them bills.
I would suggest eventually you have a nice website and make yourself a larger presence.
It is possible if you charge a reasonable fee that people would call you simply for advice.
There are a lot of people out there with a lot of trucks that they can't fix that they've spent a ton of money on, and they just don't know where to turn next.
I would bet if you're good at conversing and instructing, you could probably guide someone to do the testing so that the problem can be pinpointed.
If you had a good reputation for that, I bet a lot of owner operators would be happy to call you up and pay you whatever the fee is if they could really diagnose their own truck and maybe fix it themselves, rather than go to a dealer.
If you have that kind of skill and you could get on the phone with people, for the owner operator it would be a very cost effective and time effective thing.
So much time and money is wasted at these crazy dealerships.
