One of their customers brought a truck with under 300,000 miles to my mechanic. He said that the head had already been off once (failed head gasket). My mechanic did a complete inframe, cutting the counterbores properly as per CAT protocol t to fix the sloppy work. I thought that it was ridiculous for what EVT wants $ for these trucks, they shouldn’t be selling them with “shade tree mechanic” half assed engines.

just fyi Elkhorn is using factory remans from cat, not building themselves.
