Why you shouldn't leave your truck during a regen.

I'm no diesel mechanic, but I dare say something else was the matter before this tractor entered a regeneration.

 

With my luck, I'd put the fire out then get fined and put out of service for having an under-charged fire extinguisher.

 

I’ve never had a truck do a full on full heat regen while parked, even coming in off the road it’s kicked off and idling normal by the time I park. My current truck will go to 1000rpm and do a warm up to get the condensation out, usually after idling 4-5 hours.

 

Well... really, if your truck catches fire, and you have to put it out with your extinguisher....you deserve to be out of service if you then drive that medium-rare truck anywhere.

I’m new to this regen thing. It sucks. I’m stuck right now, waiting. It’s been regenerating for 1 hr. 45 minutes. Screen said particulate filer close to full, regen available. Glad I’m on the clock. Extra long lunch break tonight. Lol

 

I had a small fire in Phoenix in 2011. I used up mine. I had to go to the TA West of Phoenix and get the trailer fixed. While there my company helped me buy another one. Many drivers keep a 2nd one onboard.
