Others have answered this, I'll try to give 2 examples. First, no shipper is going to care about the rider form. Either they allow passengers or they don't. Where your area will get grey is that most of what the shippers consider a passenger is a non-CDL holder. If your wife doesn't have a CDL, well essentially you're both the same to them.
Now, my stories. Once I was traveling with my family. Wife and 2 young sons. I had a pickup at a paper mill. They did not allow passengers, so they waited at the little truckstop near the entrance of the mill while I loaded. Another time I loaded at Arconic in Newburgh, IN. I had my son with me and they dont allow passengers in the plant. There is an office where you watch safety videos and I left him there. They too did not care that I had permission to have him in the truck. Nor would they have cared if he wasn't a co-driver, if he had a CDL. CDL driver, no matter why he is in the truck is ok, non-CDL driver isn't.
Need advice on my new logistics company

Oh man I knew brokers were grimey but I never thought to that extent to to false advertise loads in that way no I’m definitely going to be paronoid I may have to find a direct shipper or get a contract with somebody validated. I’m going to start with the load boards but at the same time that isn’t acceptable

Oh okay thanks sir that gives me some clarity on how the process goes at some point and time I would have to get my CDL then just so I can be held to a higher standard even just running a box truck I have a 90 program in my area for about 3200 bucks outta pocket not bad I will consider that during my journey of trucking for sure
