So what is scania doing about us emissions regulations…..if you don’t have to play by those rules 770 hp and 2700 torque is easily achieved with 14-15l inline 6 engines
I’m looking forward to seeing how things go for Edison it would be great to see a company trying to make stuff that last longer than the first week….

Synthetic or conventional oil?

So you guys are saying that today's trucks (engines) are better than 5-10 years ago?
-
I had a 2017 with an EPA15 Paccar MX13. It had 600k on it when I sold it with no engine problems. Cleaned and replaced the DPF according to the book and replaced some NOx sensors. The actual engine had zero issues. That truck is still running pulling a milk tank but I can’t say if it’s had engine work over the last three years or not. Currently have 360k on an EPA21 Paccar MX13. Had the injectors cleaned once and had to replaced one injector. Other than that it’s been running as it should.
Oxbow, Siinman and Knucklehead Thank this. -
Chevron Delo XLE 400 10w30 synthetic.

I’m saying 2017+ is better than 2016 or prior when it comes to a Cummins 15. I don’t know about the others as much. That Paccar experience I spoke of is for those motors in the last 2 yrs but sounds like guys were having better luck with them longer ago but still within your 10 yrs.Knucklehead, Oxbow and Bean Jr. Thank this.

I know 3 guys running x15's one had a rebuild at a little under 700,000 like 680 I believe, and one other one at 770,000 the other one is right around that point right now but still doing pretty good, the one that got rebuilt in the 600's is probably gonna need a new engine pretty soon, and is at 985 right now.
Knucklehead and Oxbow Thank this. -
Here’s the crazy part and why people say Scania engines are many years ahead USA engines. They meet all USA emissions without all the extra stuff. They just use DEF and they use a lot of it. They believe the engine will last a lot longer and be very reliable compared to what we have today with emissions.Knucklehead Thanks this.

My 2016 DD13 has a B50 rating of 1 million miles, she's at 950k and still going strong, oil samples still look great.
Knucklehead and Oxbow Thank this. -
If there was anywhere that could service them id be swapping my block out for one of those monsters. If they become semi common here i likely will. I know my ISX has 490K on it and im hopeful it will hit 750+ so it will be a couple years.
If not its currently cheaper to put a new long block ISX with a 3 year warranty on it in then to do a rebuild. Which is just silly.
