Congratulations.
I quit cold turkey in 1981. It was easier each day.
I also learned that the reason for my headaches all of the time was because I was allergic to nicotine. After I quit, I became more pronounced on it and had it checked out. Amazing what you will do for a cigarette.
Never went back and my wife smoked when I quit. Thankfully she quit in 1990.
So I finally did it 1 week today!

Yep, I was at a July 4th party and thought, "One cigarette would be OK. Won't be any problem!" Well, it's still a problem nearly 15 years later.

I know what you mean. I know people like that too. Well luckily for me nobody else in my family smokes and being in the truck has always been the hard part for me I think boredom more than anything you know having that constant motion of smoking kept me occupied. I have never really smoked that much when I'm at home because I always went outside to do it.JustSonny Thanks this.

Ive never smoked so anyone who gives up gets my full respect. I've seen how hard 40 plus a day is to pack in.
My parents gave up when I was kid. I refused to get back into the car just as we were about to drive home one day. When I say "home" we were over 1000 miles from home on mainland Europe ....I was nine years old. Thirty plus years later they're both still off the ciggies. Thank you Mum and Dad.outerspacehillbilly, JustSonny and vavega Thank this. -
My son was nearly 9 years old when I quit in 1983. He told me how much he hated being around it, particularly in the car! He was nearly 21 when I picked the habit up again.
