Ouch!! I’ve been into archery ever since I was 6 years old and in April I’ll be 60. I learned early to slightly bend my wrist in such a way that I can keep that cable from tearing up my forearm. In the late 70’s and 80’s I had a Whitetail II with an 80lb draw with a 50% let-off. Today, I use a PSE Nova Rimfire from 2005. I can’t remember what the let-off is, but it’s like holding nothing. It’s set at 63 lbs and it blasts through anything and everything I hunt. I love it. Shemane Nugent has a bow with a 43 lb draw and she uses it on every animal you can imagine. Fred Bear and old Ted have been my heroes since I don’t know when. Nothing like bowhunting. It’s kind of like trucking, once it gets in your blood… You’re hooked for life.broke down plumber, singlescrewshaker, 1951 ford and 13 others Thank this.

Can't beat that but believe it or not it was introduced at my boarding school back about 1954. Everything was going well until one a day a kid walked too close to the target just at the same time as a less able archer took up his bow and the kid received the arrow in his eye. Amazingly his eye was saved at hospital but I don't remember the gear coming out again.
The boy's name was Tom Banbury, so if by some incredible chance he became like me, interested in lorries, and has migrated here, it would be great to hear from him again.
Mind you, he would also have survived to be 83 of course.
