I think your work history is going to keep you from getting a good job with any reputable company. Job hoping isn't appreciated by a company who might feel that you would do it for their company too.

As for WEL I can personally relate to not working for them for different reasons.
1- I applied, talked to a recruiter and was hired. I was told that I would be driving in their Mid-Atlantic regional fleet and home in Delaware on weekends.
2- I flew to Wisconsin but the person that was supposed to pick up 6 of us at the airport forgot and we waited for over 4 hours after calling them before they came for us.
3- We were told that we would receive our assigned tractors at the end of orientation. I asked about how they would be cleaned and given new mattress. I was then told that if we wanted them cleaned we had to do it ourselves. The real downside was the mattresses were disgustingly filthy and worn out but we were told no new ones would be issued.
4- I then was told that my Mid-Atlantic regional run would be 3 weeks then I had to return to Wisconsin for truck maintenance and work local for 1 week before returning to the East coast.
5- I contacted the recruiter and questioned the differences and he said that he wasn't aware of them even though he had stated differently.
At this point I decided that WEL wouldn't be a good fit for me and booked a flight home. I parted after 2 days of orientation and told them thanks but no thanks because if there were these many lies up front I didn't want to experience more later.
I am not saying that they are a bad company but my experience there was not for me.

I've already had a carrier tell me no when I only had 2 on my list, they said they wouldn't hire anyone that didn't have a job history of 3 years and would hire no one who left a company sooner than 6 months

So I know it's there but honestly I'm more than game with hopping until I find what I need, I'm not here to look good on a resume, I'm here to make money and not deal with a circus in their office

If you keep hopping, you'll never find what you need, because you'll hop yourself right out of consideration for any company. You're already in Florida, and that greatly diminishes your options. It isn't the company that makes you the money, it's you that makes you the money. It takes time, and I think you need to be more patient and adaptable. Nobody industry gives you the money you want because you want it. The drivers that have the most success are available, reliable, and adaptable. You gotta work on all 3 of those lol.

And that's one of the reasons you're not making money. A lot of times a driver can knock out three 400 mile loads in the same time it takes to do a 1,000 mile load.

I mean as is im gonna have to hop the next company within 6 months, and you can't profit at 50cpm as a company driver, nomatter how hard you run it isn't possible so it isn't worth signing on with any carrier paying under 60cpm

Then it's a pain because I'm gonna have to hop companies already one more time nomatter what I do to get to a job i want, and it's definitely not worth being patient on, if I'm not making at least $1000 on a bad week it isn't worth driving

I need to get around $4,000 saved bare minimum, get my hazmat, quit where I'm at immediately and go to either groendyke or heniff

It's pathetic I still can't afford to save anything because my last 2 carriers were tried to scam, complete waste of a year, I made $30,000 in 2024, absolutely nothing

And going to the endless no pay carriers for 50cpm isn't about patience, that's stupidity, if you aren't being compensated properly it isn't worth getting in the truck

I'm worth bare minimum 60cpm, realistically 65cpm-70cpm and that's whats needed to make a profit, slow weeks happen, you need insurance that you'll make something

If you're not making that you'd be better off begging on the corner vs driving a truck, I can make $100-$200 a day doing that, aint worth working like a dog at 50cpm. It's not a matter of being adaptable, it's a matter that a carrier needs to pay their hired drivers

I don't handle short loads well, never have i know i can't make money on em so I don't take em, always a massive drop in my paycheck

I can do 2 or 3 loads a week and that's it statistically that's all I've ever gotten nomatter the miles

Might as well make em long miles, why do 2 500mile loads when I can do 2 1500mile loads

Dirka Dirka Transportation will hire anybody with 3 hours of OTR experience. I see their top notch drivers around from time to time. Easy to spot, bathrobes and Crocs, washing their feet in the squeegee buckets.....That company lets them have 16 relatives living in the truck with them, run a campfire in the cab while they drive, drive barefoot, get in crashes etc. They pay under 20 CPM but you know.....good place to hang out until the sun gets a bit brighter.

...and you'll be back here crying about those companies as well. Sometimes the problem is in the mirror.

Why do you think you're worth 60 cpm? Youre not that experienced. You admitted that you've been late repeatedly. You've also indicated in so many words that you have trouble planning loads if it isn't a cross country run. It wasn't that long go that most of us kn here was making 50ish cpm, it was probably when you first got started actually. I could make 1000 per week easily when I was getting paid 50 cpm. It isn't about the cpm, a driver will always get paid market wages. Cpm means nothing if you can't manage your time or if your company doesn't have freight. Even in this downturn, a driver can still make 1000 per week.
