So here's what my truck is doing, when I start the truck up first thing it builds air like it should and what happens like the other morning I went from parking spot to fuel island which took 5 minutes or less shut truck off to fuel, pumped roughly 90 gallons and about 7 gallons of DEF, in this amount of time air leaked off to around 50 PSI. It only does this when cold no matter what the outside temperature is but if i drive it for say an hour I can shut down and it takes several hours for it to leak down that low, any ideas why? 2016 Cascadia 113 Expedite Straight truck with tag axle. THANKS

My experience has been when the leak slows/stops after the truck warms-including the HVAC air-its a leak at an airline under the dash at a quick connect fitting. Once the airlines soften up after warming, the fitting and plastic seal better. Air pressure dropping down that fast leads me to think it's a larger airline, like at the brake release valve. But I would think you'd hear that leak. If it is an at a quick connect fitting, cutting off the end at the bite mark (from the fitting) at the end of the airline usually gets rid of the leak-for a little while anyhow. I've gone thru this for years because I've only owned older trucks. I now just replace quick connects with compression fittings. Other than that, you just have to spray soapy water from a spray bottle all over the trucks airlines and where it bubbles is a leak.

10-4 thanks for the info, sounds like me and my old bones if they're cold they don't want to work right, once they warm up they are happy and do as they should. Hopefully tomorrow when I fire it up I'm somewhere decently quite and I can find it by ear.

It should be easy to hear with the truck shut off after the air pressure is built up, with that amount of air leak.

    Rideandrepair and Gridaxe5588 Thank this.
