I’ve never seen a load of lumber “X” in the front. Something to think about when haul a load, and the V-board even better. :thumbright:

Southern yellow pine is hard and slick.
The front bundles kept wanting to buckle up in the middle, and I could slide boards right out of the center.
After trying several ways to tighten them down I finally put a block screen on each of them and X strapped it.
    That made me feel better.

But harder than spilling Sprite all over the whole load, right? Or are you too new to remember that? Lol

    I didn’t have enough Sprite.
A tarp wouldn’t do much in the event of really needing to keep them in place.

When I hauled slick 2x4’s, I’ll put a 2x4 on top middle and strap/tighten the s^%t out of it to compress it. But I like your idea.
